Purple Fluorite from Hardin County, Illinois. This piece is from the Annabel Lee Mine. There is a yellow color zone seen on the side of the specimen and when illuminated from the side. The Galena crystal (near top of specimen) measures 1 inch. There are also small Calcite Crystals formed on the surface of the left hand side. The Calcite formed only on this side resulting from the ionization charge that occured in the pocket when the Crystal was forming. This is classic Illinois Fluorite from several years ago.
